  3. To the kadai add 2 tsp of oil, 1/4 tsp of mustard seeds, 1 /4 tsp of urad dhal, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, pinch of hing, curry leaves, onions and fry well add vegetables as per your wish (tastes good even without vegetables). Add 1/2 tsp of chilli powder.
  4. Soak the rice for 10 minutes.
  5. To the pressure cooker add the cooked dhal, rice and the onion mixture to it and add 4 cups of water. Allow for 4 to 5 whistles. Check the salt and adjust the water level.
  6. Add 1 tbsp of ghee garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with papad and pickle.
